Finally I am uploading some impressions of the first term 2012. We have almost 200 students in campus now and it is exciting ans sometimes challenging to work with them. A lot is going on... See for yourselves!

The new year has started well... So many things have already happened that it is hard to keep track:

• A team building workshop made us roll on the ground blindfolded and test our patience in almost unsolvable tasks.
• I got a new phone because the other one fell down the latrine - I knew that would happen eventually.
• Just recently I finally baked my first cake and it's great to be able to do some baking - I had really missed that.
• The local carpenter was able to make a living room chair I had taken pictures of in Kenya. It's all mahagony wood - and the best part: You can dismantle it and carry it in pieces!
• The Year 2 students are in teaching practice. They try their best to handle classes with 100 - 200 pupils and complain about all the work. But as soon as they'll be back studying themselves in two weeks, they'll wish they could have remained in those schools.
• We have started with the new year one class. This year is exeptional: We are having a lot of ladies, almost 50%! May they persist throughout the whole 2-years-course.

After a colorful ceremonial graduation the students traveled home for their long holidays (and staff were also released after having completed the marking of the exam papers). We will start the next academic year early February.

After a great, relaxing time in Switzerland, I was very happy to return to the College. Work has caught up with me but as we are preparing for our decade celebrations the weeks ahead promise to be exciting. This is the third term and early December we will end this academic year.

What a privilege to be part of such a historic time!

Besides all the new things that I'm still doing, the relationships keep life interesting. Enjoy the impressions of the last few weeks.

I am happy to say that I am the latest addition to the staff of this Teacher Training College. We are facilitating a two-year-course for pre-service primary school teachers and in-service training during vacation times.

Since the current academic year has come to an end and the exams have been written there are no more classes taking place. The students have left for their homes and the staff is busy marking the exams.

This has given me a lot of time to get settled and organized in my new home. Below you find a few impressions of the College, this year's graduation ceremony and a visit to a refugee camp at the border to D.R. of Congo, but also of the few days I spent in Nairobi, Kenya, when traveling through.
